Dogs, Cows, and Sheep

These 3 animals are all around the secondary site at New Hope. In the past few days we have had a run-in with each of these animals. Lots of the North American families have trained dogs as watch dogs to guard their house. Our next door neighbour has one of these dogs and when a wild dog entered its territory they guard dog attacked the other dog and there was a little fight. Auntie T. came out and threw rocks at the dogs to break up the fight which did but there were multiple dogs around to the watch dog attacked again. Then B., Auntie T. son went with a stick to break up the fight again but the fight just stopped and everything was quiet again.
One of New Hope’s directors lives on the secondary site and owns lots of cows and sheep. Since these animals need to graze in numerous areas there are people watching the cows and sometimes the sheep during the day. A few days ago while we were walking over to the baby house we had to wait first for a bunch of cows with horns staring at you and then were almost having to a bunch of sheep walking across the road. Here in Uganda you need to adjust your schedule a little bit to wait for many things.
