Civil War Class

Aunt Chrissy's (our gym teacher) Mom and Dad came to visit her in Uganda a couple weeks ago. They came for two week and her Dad (who was in the USA Air Force) wanted to teach an American Civil War Class to some of the kids here. So, we got to go as well, even though we aren't American. The class ended up having nine kids in the class and we were divided into North and South. I was on the North team and Christina and John were on the South.

During the six days of the class, Uncle John gave us the history of the Civil War and showed us on many different maps where everything happened! On the first day each team got to devise a Grand Strategy and come up with the way we would go about fighting the Civil War.

On the other days, we would fight battles by using a grid and moving our units strategically and fight the battle when we came into combat. 
As a sign to say thank you we made a card and cake for Uncle John. The girls (Kara, Hadassah, Hosanna, Julia, Christina and I) spent Tuesday afternoon making the cake and decorating it! The cake turned out great and Uncle Jon really liked it!
