On October 9 it was Uganda's Jubilee. Uganda has now been around for 50 years! Since this year was an important one there has been lots of preperation for October  9. 50 days before Jubilee a few people from New Hope decided to have a prayer meeting everyday for a different part of Uganda. Every week in church we would hear about all the districts that were going to be prayed for this week. Finally on the Sunday before Jubilee a group of New Hope singers went to the National Thanksgiving Day where the President and his family were there along with many other Members of Parliament and Cabinet members. As New Hope kids led them in song they worship God and afterward redeticated Uganda to God. On Octobe 9th New Hope got together and had a celebratory service which involved reading essays from an essay contest at the primary and secondary schools about Uganda past, present and future. We also sang the national anthem and the pledge of alligence. After the service we went and planted trees in a new area called Jubilee Park.
